Sony Xperia S is an Android smartphone from Sony Mobiles and is the first Sony-Only product after Sony acquired Ericsson's stake in Sony Ericsson in the month of January, 2012. This handset has 4.3 inches wide LED Backlit LCD capacitive touch screen with the mobile BRAVIA engine that optimizes the picture, a 1.5GHz dual core processor, a 12 megapixels auto focus primary rear camera, HDMI-out, 1GB space for RAM, and 32GB of internal storage capacity. The screen is protected by a scratch resistant glass and on top of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, it has TimeScape user interface that makes the experience with this droid wonderful and unforgettable. There is a secondary camera also that allows you to make video calls.

Sony Xperia S was announced in the month of January, 2012 at the Consumer Electronics Show held in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. This droid was made available in Barcelona since the 29th February 2012 after the Mobile World Congress and in United Kingdom it is present since March, 2012. In India, this grand handset made its welcome on 10th April, 2012 with a price of Rs. 32,549, but due to the extensive competition in the smartphone market, the company slashed down its price and now it is available for Rs. 26,550, a straight cut down of Rs. 5,999, which is fairly a good amount.

At the time of launch Sony Xperia S was running on Android version 2.3 Gingerbread operating system but on 21st June, this handset received Android version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, over the air (OTA). The company has also announced an update to Android Jelly Bean version 4.1 for Sony Xperia S without specifying any particular date for its availability over the air.

The internal memory space present in Sony Xperia S is sufficient as well. This 3G Android smartphone comes with 32 GB of inbuilt memory space along with 1 GB of RAM that helps the operating system to run without any difficulties. However, with a whopping 32 GB of memory, the absence of micro SD card slot is not felt as such. Under the skin, Sony Xperia S has been bestowed with a powerful dual core processor clocked at the speed of 1.5 GHz. the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS is perfect and would be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as soon as the updates are rolled out.

Internet browsing on Sony Xperia S is impressive as well.
