Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Review
The best part with Sony mobiles is it tries to make something big with each of its phone. There is innovation in every mobile it develops sometimes the theme revolves around music with walkman integrated, while at other times it might be concentrating hard on green range, but there is always something or the other. However, this time with the Sony Xperia X10, it is the best hardware that you can get with the complete focus on the communication. All the same, the Sony Xperia X10 is not just a king of a single trade, but basically a jack of all trades if you start looking at it.
Gone are the days when you usually think of the Sony mobiles as some neatly designed compact models. The Sony Xperia X10 is as bulky as it could get in tandem with the HTC mobiles we see usually. While at first when you set your eyes for the first time on this Sony mobile, it is beyond doubt that you will be surprised by the 119 mm x 63 mm x 13 mm dimensions of it. But this is not all, Xperia X10 takes pride in. Sony is the first smartphone to mark the beginning of the Android featured phones, though one has to mention that the Sony is slightly old school and not well versed with the recent times. Why else will the manufacturer dump in the Android 1.6 Donut version instead of the Eclairs or the Gingerbread version running on it.
The 4” capactive touch screen is rather uncommon among the Sony mobiles. The scratch resistant nature of the phone makes it quite a winner, but when Sony has stretched to this extent, it should have surprised the consumers with the oleophobic coat as well to make it a hardware special. But well, as it didn't happen let's not worry about what is not there, instead it is interesting to find out that this big bulky models weighs lesser than it seems to be at 135 g. You would probably expect more of metal from the high-end phone like this, but the high usage of plastics puts it in light weight category.
The 8 MP camera is by far one of the best interesting specs on the Sony Xperia X10 with 3264 x 2448 p resolution. This is an amazing feature for those who are keen on photography and live each moment of their life multiple times with their moments captured into the small Sony camera. However, the lack of a secondary camera meant for video calling might be a disappointment, but the consumers are sure to survive it, after the continuous auto focus feature for video recording has been offered with the Android upgrade to Eclairs version. The 1 GHz processor works amazingly under the hood of the Sony Xperia X10, another reason for Sony to swell with pride. However, the good news is the Sony Xperia X10 is now playstation certified to have those amazing games full of graphics warm you up during those downtimes at work or at home and a good 1500 mAh battery to support it unfailingly.
