Samsung Guru 1200 comes with the dimensions of 109.5 mm x 45.5 mm x 12.8 mm and weighs 65.1 grams. The device works on the GSM network at a frequency of 900/1800 MHz. The device comes with lots of data connectivity features including the GPRS and EDGE facility. The GPRS facility allows the user to navigate to his/her desired location without getting lost. The device is powered by the SGP operating system.

The device comes with a 3.86 cm screen and is backed by the TFT technology. The screen of the device gives a resolution of 128 by 128 pixels along with a colour depth of 65K. The device comes with a storage capacity of 64/32 MB which is not much but still offers enough space to store basic contact information. The memory lets the user store 100 phonebook entries and 500 SMSs. There is no facility for a music player or a video player as the device is a low scale product but it offers satisfactory amount of features for the price range it falls in. The audio formats supported by the device include Midi and MP3 ringtone. As far as the data connectors are concerned, the device comes with a earjack that is compatible with the S20 Pin and a connector that is also supported by the S20 Pin.

The device is powered by the standard lithium-ion battery of 800 mAh that allows the user to operate on the device for long hours without being interrupted. The battery is very formidable and makes sure that the user gets a talk time of up to 8 hours and 40 minutes along with a stand by time of up to 800 hours. The device has a bar handset and because the price range is low, the device lacks a lot of features that we commonly expect from a cell phone like a FM radio that would have given the user access to the popular radio stations. There is no music player as well, hence no provision for storing musical tracks of your choice. There is no camera either. So the device is basically a no non sense gadget that comes strictly with the purpose of staying in touch with people. The device is available in only one colour, and that too the ever so elegant black. Samsung Guru 1200 is a low-end device but is very sturdy and reliable.
