20th March 2013: Samsung Galaxy Note has received a software update that will bring minor yet desirable changes in the gadget. The phablet is now upgradeable to Android version 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system and with this upgrade the users of Samsung Galaxy Note will experience Project Butter improvements, Google Now, new customizable notification area, Multi-View, Smart Rotation, Page Buddy, enhanced keyboard input, updated gallery app and improved Pop-up Play.
The global roll-out of this version was started from the month of February 2013 but till now it has only touched the ground of around 10-12 regions. You can update is available via Kies app and you can update your Galaxy Note by connecting your device to PC or Mac and opening Kies. Over the air update is not available so this is the only possible way to update your smartphone.
When launched, Samsung Galaxy Note was running on the obsolete Android version 2.3.6 Gingerbread operating system but later on October 2012 the phone received the Jelly Bean OS version 4.1 update with improved TouchWiz user interface. Initially announced at IFA in Berlin in 2011, Galaxy Note was first released in late October 2011 in Germany but within a short period of time the company rolled-out the phablet in most of the major markets including East Asia, Europe and India by the end of November, 2011.
