At a time when Samsung Galaxy S II was eagerly expected, Samsung has come up with a device which is not that exciting but gives a decent experience without being harsh on the buyer’s pocket. The Samsung Galaxy Mini II is really a budget handset which performs well and manages that with its modest specs list. Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 smartphone offer entry-level features and plain compact design. It is the successor of earlier launched Samsung Galaxy Mini and its affordable price is going to be its biggest advantage.

The phone boasts of features like a 3 megapixels camera, 3.7 inches HVGA screen and a single core 800 MHz core processor. Galaxy Mini 2 has a solid chassis and its build quality and overall design is pretty much likeable for the price at which it is offered. The mesh-back design of Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 feels rather comfortable in the hand.

Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 has a 3.27-inch HVGA display whose resolution isn’t inadequate considering that it doesn't want to run loads of videos. Yet, it is quite a surprising revelation that the internet experience on Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 isn’t tacky as offered on other budget smartphones. The websites takes no time to load, the text is legible and remains so on zooming in and out and it is also easy to manipulate the web pages. Samsung Galaxy Mini 2, on the downside, gives problem while opening and closing apps and the text input is also slow and cumbersome on this phone.

The Galaxy Mini 2 also runs the Android 2.3.7 version Gingerbread operating system and handles most jobs well, as expected. It is compact, good looking and easy to carry. It has Samsung TouchWiz user interface as well and it's a quad-band world phone with HSDPA support. Yet, on the other fronts, its specs list is scaled down. There's also a digital music player, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, a microSD card slot, and 4GB of internal memory. It is certain that Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 isn’t the greatest Android phone ever produced, but it a decent budget Android handset which will satisfy its users with its performance on most occasions.

Overall Review

Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 is an endearing handset, bordered by a silver rim and encased with a sunny, yellow plastic casing. The design of this smartphone resembles a lot to the design of Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 in terms of hardware keys where the signature home button is on the base, power on the right, volume rocker and microSD slot on the left, 3.5mm headphone jack up top, as well as a port for microUSB at its bottom but this handset can be very comfortably sits in one's hand for quite a long time without straining the muscles of your palm as it is lighter in weight.
