Over all Review of Samsung Galaxy J
The alphabets seem to be the new naming formats with so many firms cashing in on them for naming their devices. Sony already has a lot of its devices titled with alphabets as apparent from its Xperia models. Samsung has been less generous though with its usage of singular alphabets but is making up for it now as another Galaxy model arrives in the market by the name of Samsung Galaxy J. This smartphone has a full sized 5-inch full high definition super AMOLED display that runs on a high resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. The display shows a certain amount of crispness that gives appropriate color accuracy and saturation to the images. We can vouch for the fact that for once, a Samsung device looks different from its previous smartphones. As far as the dimensions of the smartphone go, Samsung Galaxy J has a length of 137mm, breadth of 70mm and thickness of 8.6mm. It is a little heavy at 146 grams but the display is also pretty big so there is a bargain.
Inside the device, the gadget offers 2.3GHz quad core processor with the latest Android Jelly Bean 4.3 operating system and a colossal 3GB RAM to ensure that the speed of the gadget remains as fast as possible. A huge internal memory of 32GB is provided that can contain massive amount of data like songs, games, images and videos. The microSD card slot can take it a step further with a 64GB microSD card slot. Samsung Galaxy J packs a powerful punch in the camera department with its powerful 13.2 megapixels primary camera that has LED flash, zero shutter lag and BSI facilities that can also shoot full high definition videos. Secondary camera is also well looked after with 2.1 megapixels that is more than adequate for making video calls and having video chats.
The smartphone is NFC capable and supports Wi-Fi apart from HTML browser, GPRS and EDGE facilities for accessing all the desired features of internet. Apart from NFC, the user can also use Bluetooth and USB port for data exchange processes. A 2600mAh standard lithium-ion battery would be adequate for most and with Samsung Galaxy J it is no different for it churns out a standby time of up to 310 hours and a talk time of up to 11.5 hours. Music player for hearing music and video player for watching movies are major components for the entertainment side of the gadget.
User Interface and UI functionality
Samsung Galaxy J boasts of a 5-inch full high definition screen that is aided by a fantastic resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. The super AMOLED display has nicely spread colors and gives minimum reflection from even the most tedious angles.
Samsung Galaxy J has decent loudspeakers but earphones would have been a better option as it gives a superior treble and bass quality. The music player application supports various formats in which, the user can hear music whereas video player is apt for watching movies in high definition on the big 5-inch display.
Pictures and Video quality
Samsung Galaxy J is an apt device for photography lovers with its 13.2 megapixels primary camera provided at the back while another 2.1 megapixels shutter given at the front of the device. The zero shutter lag makes sure that the user can snap images without any delay while LED flash provides a brighter background. Digital zoom and BSI are other features whereas video recordings can also be done at high definition.
Samsung Galaxy J features standard web facilities like Wi-Fi, HTML browser, GPRS and EDGE. There are also the tethering facilities including Hot spot and DLNA. Downloading is fast as expected and so is web surfing even for high buffering sites like Facebook.
Internal and External Memory
Samsung Galaxy J can go as high as 64GB with the help of microSD card slot but that should not be required for a while with the internal memory itself being of a mighty 32GB. The user can thus, store massive amount of data that include songs, games, images and videos. 3GB of RAM is just amazing for any smartphone to have for the resources got accessed at a lightening pace.
Applications and Gaming
There are no games that the Android app store offers but cannot be run on Samsung Galaxy J as the device comes with 3GB RAM, quad core processor and Android Jelly Bean 4.3 operating system. The combination of these specs is apposite to play games like Temple run, Virtual Tennis, and Commando.
Samsung Galaxy J has a sustainable 2600mAh standard lithium-ion battery, which has the strength to deliver 11.5 hours of talk time and up to 310 hours of standby time. The device should hold up well against multimedia usage as well.
Samsung Galaxy J covers all the basic entities of connectivity including USB port, Bluetooth, WI-Fi, HTML5 browser along with GPRS and EDGE. NFC capability would facilitate lightening quick data exchange. The quad band frequencies at which the smartphone operates include 850, 900, 1800 and 1900MHz respectively.
Samsung Galaxy J when compared to Samsung Galaxy S4 has an identical screen size with 5 inches each as both the displays are super AMOLED backed. Pixel density is higher with S4. RAM is of 2GB with Samsung Galaxy S4 while the same is 3GB for Samsung Galaxy J. The microSD card slot potential is 64GB for both the smartphones. Samsung Galaxy J is just marginally ahead in the camera department when it comes to pixel strength for it comes with a 13.2 megapixels primary camera whereas Samsung Galaxy S4 offers a 13 megapixels primary camera. The secondary camera is 2.1 megapixels for Samsung Galaxy J while is 2 megapixels for Samsung Galaxy S4. The Samsung Galaxy J is powered by 2600mAh standard lithium-ion battery which is at par with the battery of Samsung Galaxy S4.

Samsung has been burning hot in recent times with some heavy weight releases like Samsung Galaxy Note3. To supplement it further, the colossal 3GB RAM enhances the ability of the device to handle multiple tasks efficiently. The 146 grams weighing device comes with a mega 13.2 megapixels primary camera and a 2 megapixels secondary camera.
