Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 is yet another smartphone in the Galaxy series of Samsung and is the successor of Samsung Galaxy Ace with more advanced technology and features that is going to repeat the history of success of its predecessor. It is again a mid range handset by Samsung that is designed to cater the growing needs of the users who do not want to spend a lot for purchasing a mobile. This smartphone runs on the most used version of Android, v.2.3 Gingerbread, OS and its outer body is mostly made up of plastic which seems quite uninspiring but being a low end mobile, one can ignore such minute defects. The body design of this bar shaped Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 is very sleek, with a shiny touch and an amazing view of UI that enhances the user experie4nce with the home screen and the widgets available on it. It is a full touchscreen phone with virtual keypad that provides comfortability to the user while dealing with the handset.

Though Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 is a mid-range handset but with a resplending camera it really makes the user feel out of this world. The 5 MP auto focus camera with LED Flash, geo-tagging, face and smile detection features will increase the users experience of snapping and shooting a video. This camera provide a picture resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels with 16M colors combination and can record a video of 720p with 30 frames per second. Apart from this, a secondary camera with VGA technology is also provided at the front for video calling. The screen of Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 3.8 inch in size, giving a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, where the PLS TFT display is capacitive in touch with TouchWiz UI. The handset provides the user an internal capacity of 4 GB with 768 MB RAM and a microSD cart slot to stretch the external memory up to 32 GB.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 allows the access to Internet and nearby connectivity options through GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi and DLNA via WLAN, NFC, USB, Bluetooth, etc. and the heart of this small dwarf is powered by 800 MHz dual core processor which provides faster speed to this device. A jack for 3.5 mm earphones is also available on this phone to enhance the music experience of the user and to add more to this, Galaxy Ace 2 is bestowed with feature of FM radio with RDS technology and this phone also supports various audio and video formats , so that the user can keep himself occupied for the whole day. The standard Li-Ion 1,500 mAh battery is sufficient to keep the device alive for a very ling time so that the user can easily enjoy the functions and features of this smartphone. Considering the other mobiles of the same range, Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 deserves to be on top of the list due to its powerful camera, crystal clear view, dynamic processor and lots more features that make this smartphone a better choice above all.

Overall Review

Samsung has done well to cement their place in the market as one of the most dominant cell phone manufacturing company. One of the major reasons for the same is that the company has managed to produce a device in all the possible ranges in terms of price including low end, mid low, mid or high end devices. Samsung Galaxy Ace is a solid example of a mid range device that has done well to attract customers giving it an edge over other contemporaries like HTC and Sony. The device comes with the Android Gingerbread operating system. The 3.5 inch TFT capacitive touch screen is pretty decent but in comparison to other high profile gadgets like Samsung Galaxy Note 2 looks ragged. RAM is not that great with 278MB, which if had gone up to 512MB would have helped the device's cause but the processor of 800MHz ARM 11 along with an Adreno 200 GPU does increase the speed. Internal memory is of 158MB, while the external memory can be expanded up to 32GB with the help of a microSD card slot.

Multimedia features are pretty healthy with a music player and a video player that allows the user to listen and watch to his or her favourite songs and videos respectively. The camera though of strength 5 megapixels is not that great in terms of the quality of the pictures produced. Other devices like Sony and HTC with a similar camera strength produce far better results which speaks volumes about the quality of the device's camera. Another drawback in the camera department is the lack of a secondary camera. A battery of 1,350 mAh powers the Samsung Galaxy Ace which gives a substantial amount of talk time and a standby time. Overall the device is pretty good with a few glitches here and there.
