Nokia N78 Review

Nokia N78 is another sibling in the N series by the Finnish Handset maker, Nokia, that supports 3G connectivity. It is a mid range smartphone by the company that is running on the Symbian OS and has candy bar form factor. The phone is compatible with the N-Gage 2.0 mobile gaming service. This device has got Carl Zeiss camera sensor that captures images with a crisp clarity and provides sharp view to its users. This smartphone does not support the touchscreen feature and comes with an alpha numeric keypad where the keys are very well built and are surrounded by various other dedicated keys that makes the functioning of this device easier and faster that the other contemporary devices. this smartphone is described by Nokia as ‘multimedia' computers' handset in the N series that pushes at the higher end of what Nokia can achieve with an eye firmly on media savvy consumers.

Nokia N78 comes in a size of 113mm x 49mm x 15.1mm and carries a weight of 101.8 grams, which means that this device can easily slip down in the side pocket of users without loading any burden. The 2.4 inches wide TFT non-touch screen provides a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels with color combinations from 16M colors. The pixel density of 167 ppi makes the display more clear and sharp and below the display one will find a touch sensitive Navigation wheel that is capable of doin most of the tasks itself. The device has built-in loudspeakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack that also works as an A/V connector. It also supports Stereo FM radio with RDS, FM transmitter and Visual radio and many audio and video formats. The internal memory of the smartphone is 76MB only with 96MB for RAM but users can extend the external memory up to 16GB (2GB comes included) with the help of a microSD card slot. The microSD card is hot swappable. Connectivity options such as EDGE, GPRS, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, UPnP technology, Bluetooth and USB port are provided by this smartphone. The primary snapper has 3.2MP auto focus sensor that comes with Carl Zeiss optics and LED flash feature. This shooter can captures images with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and can record VGA videos with 15 frames per second. It has secondary CIF camera also for video calls. It is running on Symbian OS, S60 rel. 3.2 platform and is powered by 369 MHz ARM 11 processor. The standard Li-Ion 1,200 mAh (BL-6F) battery provides a talktime up to 3 hours 10 minutes on 3G and a standby time up to 312 hours on 3G.

Nokia N78 is a nice piece of smartphone with pretty good and attracting features but with the upcoming low end smartphones based on the latest technology, this smartphone will get tough time from them.
