Motorola ATRIX 2 Review

Motorola ATRIX 2 is a mid-ranging smartphone by the company which is blessed with good features that are capable of catering the growing appetite of the customers. It has a candy bar form factor where on the right side are volume keys with a dedicated camera shutter release/access button towards the bottom, micro USB and HDMI ports reside on the bottom of the left hand side and 3.5mm headphones socket and power/sleep button are placed at the top with battery and microSD card slot at the back of the device. From UI functionality to accessing applications, browsing and media playback, the smartphone functions smoothly with no hint of lag or framing of any kind. It is a full touchscreen phone with virtual keypad and is running on the most used Android platform which allows the user to have access to more than 1,50,000 applications. There is a front camera also which apart from giving the facility of video calling also permits the user to use this camera as a recorder and the user friendly interface allows the user to have a customizable homescreen so that going on the favorite sites and applications become easier and quicker.

Motorola ATRIX 2 is a small size phone with dimensions of 126 mm x 66 mm x 10 mm and holds a weight of 147 grams. The 4.3 inches TFT display is made up of scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass and has a capacitive touchscreen which provides a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels with a color combination from 16M colors. It has touch sensitive controls and has MOTOBLUR UI with Live Widgets on top of the Android platform. The user can connect to the world of Internet and to the nearby devices through EDGE, GPRS, 3G, Wi-Fi, DLNA, WLAN, Bluetooth and a microUSB port. The amazing 8 MP auto focus camera comes with LED flash and features such as geo-tagging and image stabilization and captures an image in a size of 3264 x 2448 pixels along with a video in size 1080p with 24 frames per second. The user can avail the facility of FM radio with RDS technology with 3.5 mm headphone jack and in-built loudspeakers. This smartphone comes with 8 GB storage along with 1 GB of RAM and there is a microSD card slot to expand the external memory up to 32 GB (2 GB included). It is running on Android v.2.3 Gingerbread OS and is powered by Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processor with TI OMAP 4430 chipset. The standard Li-Ion 1,785 mAh battery can keep the device working up to 8 hours of talktime and up to 382 hours of standby time. Available in black color, this smartphone faces a good competition with Samsung Galaxy S II.
