Micromax X285, is a dual sim (GSM/GSM) mobile with a thin, stylish look. This pocket friendly, light handset weighs about 86gms and is available only in black color. Having dimensions of 113.5mm x 49.6mm x 14.35mm, the on-board memory of this handset is very less but it has a microSD slot which is expandable up to 8GB. Its standard battery of Li-Ion at 1100mAh has a talk time of 4hrs and a standby time of 144hrs.
The most noticeable features of this handset are multi format audio-video player and powerful speakers with paper vocal box technology. It supports all MP3 music formats. WAV, AMR music player and RDS FM radio with recorder; give enormous sounds even while standing in a crowd. Vibrating alert types, 64 polyphonic, MP3 and WAV ringtones buzz out of the handset with loud, powerful volumes. But the headphones coming in the box give low quality sound that may create trouble for ears.
It has got a 1.3MP camera with a resolution of 1280*1024 pixels. X285 is an ‘easy to use’ mobile with a flashlight cam that gives fine picture quality even at dark and supports images with PNG, JPG, JPEG, BMP formats. It also has a video player and recorder that work only with 3gp format. Its app store is designed by JAVA (type 1). All the basic applications as that of calendar, unit/currency converter, voice memo, image viewer etc. are preinstalled in the handset.
The LED torch containing X285 also has SMS and phonebook protection to give secrecy to the data stored. Once locked, it can be opened only by a pre set password. An automatic call recording feature adds to the security of the conversations made through it. It also contains a collection of entertaining games for your leisure. The 2.4 inch TFT screen is wide enough with a display quality of 240*320 pixels. The 256K color combinations, 5 way scrolling keys and a smoothly accessible keypad makes it completely user friendly.
It is a 2G connectivity mobile having the most common web browser, opera mini, preinstalled in it through which users can download, surf or search their choices from internet. Devoid of WLAN connections, it offers a GPRS and WAP browsing support. It works on 900/1800 quad band GSM & has a Bluetooth feature for data transfer.
