LG has rolled out a new Optimus series mobile phone with little or negligible improvisation. Optimus line of LG smartphones is popular as they are offered at a relatively cheap price. With the new LG Optimus 2, LG has plans to do the same again. This handset has similarities to the earlier Optimus models and its specs list is certainly very poor. This successor device does not give any reason to its buyers to choose it, despite of the fact that, it runs the Android Gingerbread operating system. This might raise expectations but the fact is that there is nothing really impressive about this phone.
LG Optimus 2 is a CDMA phone and works only on standard CDMA (800/1900 MHz frequency) network and for data; it gets support over 3G EV-DO Rev. A.The modest candy bar design of LG Optimus 2 bears a 3.2-inch, 16 million color capacitive touch screen. To get support and delivering a good performance, it runs on an 800 MHz processor. The memory of the phone is expandable and LG Optimus 2 can accommodate microSD cards of up to 32 GB capacity. Faster typing is facilitated by the Swype input for the virtual keyboard. There a Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and Wi-Fi for data sharing and connectivity.
There is a 3.2-megapixels camera in LG Optimus 2 with autofocus but it does not produce some extra-ordinary results but it is capable of video recording. The multimedia department is studded with a music player and FM radio too. However, there is no front-facing secondary camera in LG Optimus 2. It is a low-end or mid-range device with specs exactly matching up to those standards only.
LG Optimus 2 is not a worthy successor to the original LG Optimus and much before its official announcement, this phone has been doomed. It has a poor specs list with nothing new on offer. A poor replica of a better smartphone really has minimum chances of doing well in the tough competition of current times.
