Out of this One series of smartphones, HTC One Xl is one of the most attractive. There are so many features that would not only attract the consumers towards it but are also user-friendly. Starting with the major highlight of HTC One XL is the screen, which is utterly impressive. The 4.7 inches of Super IPS LCD2 capacitive touch screen display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels is perfect. It is a delight for the consumers to view images and videos on this attractive screen. The display is multitouch and is accompanied by HTC Sense user interface. Overall Review
HTC One XL is AT&T's version of HTC One X, which is designed according to the needs of the customers by paying close attention to every detail and making the phone as durable as it is beautiful. Minimalist body design, smoothly rounded piano-gloss sidewalls, curved back for easy holding and a unified shell for increased durability makes this smartphone stand out of the queue from the other smartphones. HTC One Xl runs on the latest Android v.4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS with HTC Sense 4 UI along with a 4.7 inch wide display that is sufficient enough to provide a full view of an image or picture. You can capture videos and pictures at the same time with continuous shooting, loaded with an authentic sound for all media and allows quick access to those applications, that are top in your priority, with a single finger stroke. This sophisticated phone is designed keeping your sophisticated tastes in mind. The One XL runs just like an actual digital camera. This is one of its core competencies. User Interface and UI functionality
HTC One XL is a smartphone in the One Series of HTC which can perform smooth functioning with a lightening fast speed as it supports the LTE network connection that is super fast. The 4.7 inch Super IPS LCD2 display with capacitive touch allows the user to enter the text or command with ease without straining the fingertips. The multi-touch sensitive screen provides an image of size 1280 x 720 pixels at a density of 312 ppi pixel where the screen is made up of Corning Gorilla Glass which makes the display scratch resistant and finger prints resistant. To save the battery, to detect the nearby objects without any physical contact, to measure the horizontal or vertical positioning of the phone in order to adjust the view of the screen according to its position, to locate the current position of the user and to adjust the brightness of the backlight, HTC One Xl is embedded with Gyro sensor, G-sensor, Digital Compass, Proximity Sensor and Ambient Light sensor that brings a thrilling experience for the user. To work seamlessly and accurately, the brain of this smartphone is embedded with Adreno 225 GPU and its heart gets life from 1.5 GHz Dual Core Krait processor along with a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon chipset. This smartphone has almost all the specifications of its earlier version, HTC One X, except for the processor, which is Snapdragon S4 dual core instead of Tegra 3 chipset and its performance is far better than the latter.

Features like active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, SNS integration, document viewer/ editor, etc are garnished over this smartphone. Stereo FM radio with RDS facility allows you to store the currently playing song from radio to phone.
Pictures and Video quality
HTC One XL provides a picture of amazing quality with crystal clear resolution that makes every angle of the picture visible and results in a sharp view of the image that one can expect out of a digital camera. The best feature in this phone is its 8 MP rear camera which has auto focus, smart LED flash and BSI sensor which helps in capturing the picture even in low lights. The F2.0 aperture, 28 mm lens and dedicated image chip enables the user to zoom the picture digitally. The camera on HTC One Xl device starts up in just under a second to ensure you capture the moment along with photo and video capture buttons on the same screen and it’s easy to switch modes or simply snap a photo while recording HD at the same time. In the midst of the continuous shooting mode, one can capture multiple snapshots and the video stabilization feature removes the annoying, shaky motion and all this results in capturing and playing a high quality slow motion video. The 1.3 MP front camera enables the user to watch their friends and relatives live on the screen while video calling. The shutter button permits you to capture every picture while recording or playing a video and this facility makes this smartphone faster, smarter and more intuitive. This high megapixel front camera can record an HD video of 1080p at 30 fps with stereo sound.
Internet support
HTC One XL gives connectivity options such as GPRS, EDGE at the HSDPA speed of 21 Mbps and HSUPA speed of 5.76 Mbps, LTE network at 1800/2600 MHz of frequency and at a speed of 50 Mbps UL and 100 Mbps DL. All such deadly combination makes this smartphone a super fast working device that will connect you to the huge world of social networking sites like Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Calendar, Google Talk, Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. with the flicker of an eye.
Internal and External Memory
HTC One XL has a capacity to store a huge amount of data upto 16 GB internally with a 1 GB RAM which is quite sufficient for a user. There is no microSD card slot to expand the external memory which is slightly disappointing point.
Applications and Gaming
HTC One XL can be used as a video game by experiencing a huge variety of games that can be downloaded on this smartphone freely by using the gaming application preloaded in this device.
Battery Backup
The battery of HTC One XL is not that much strong according to the functions that this small device performed but still it can provide a durable life to the phone. The standard Li-Po 1,800 mAh standard battery makes the device working for more than half of the day if the user is continuously using it and on the stand by mode it can exceed much longer life.
Connectivity Offered
HTC One XL has support for GSM coverage at a frequency of 850/900/1800/1900 Hz. The 3G network allows the user to download and upload file at a super fast speed of HSDPA and HSUPA and 4G network at LTE speed over a frequency of 1800/2600 MHz.
Compare
HTC One XL is an improvised version of HTC One X by AT&T which has a better processor to make it works quicker and instantly. The other One series of HTC like HTC One X, HTC One Y, etc. also have the same features but it has a sleek design with a past processor and better connectivity that makes it a better choice over others.
News Updates
Slow and steady wins the race. It was once proved in our age old story of hare and tortoise. Now it is to be proved by Jelly Bean, or can call it Android 4.1. HTC phones are soon to flaunt Jelly Bean; in line waiting are HTC One X, HTC One XL, HTC One S, etc. The initial news of such an update came from Austrailian sources, saying that a carrier has developed softwares to be updated, as per this source Android 4.1 is to come in the near future. Later on, this news came from the HTC exlcusive sources too. However, the date and time of this new launch has not been revealed as yet. Although the owners of these phones are already dearly waiting for this update, but they have huge doubts lodged into their minds, since it has just been recent that an update has been cancelled. HTC Desire HD was announced to be updated with Ice Cream Sandwich early this year. However, just a few days back, this update was cancelled which left all the owners and future owners quite saddened. Specially since this is a 2 year old phone, with it being almost time that the owners would now be expiring their updates time period, HTC should now be brining some updates to this model. However, HTC clearly and honestly says that Ice Cream Sandwich might not be the best thing for all smartphones. So do we expect some other update coming to HTC Desire HD?
Well, getting back to our loved model, HTC One XL and its updates with Jelly Bean. It is gradually making way to an increasining number of devices. Not to be forgotten is the fact that Google Nexus, in a few parts of the earth, has already received Jelly Bean. The rest of the parts are eagerly waiting for it soon. HTC India here faces a challenge to get this update nearing the Google Nexus phone. However, the question that makes us impatient is “when”. No one wants a Desire HD fate, we want Beans spilled out soon. Jelly Beans is expected to come with the ever surprsing “Project Butter”, which would make the user interface smoother than ever, as is evident from the name. Other than this, there will be “Google Now” and advanced Android Beam functionalities.
