Htc Magic is a Smartphone that is packed with many impressive features to give you the best in communication as well in entertainment. Powered by Qualcomm MSM7200A chip and running on Single Core 528MHz processor, Htc Magic has 288MB RAM/512MB ROM to give you solid performance. With a weight of just 118.5gm and dimensions of 113mm X 55mm X 13.7mm, Htc Magic is feather light and a pleasure to hold. It looks very attractive and is sure to command attention with its stunning design. Htc Magic mobile phone also provides the Google suite of services such as Gmail, YouTube etc. A Mini USB port has also been added. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g connectivity for web browsing and Bluetooth v2.0 to let you transfer data easily. You can also send and receive emails on this phone. The layout of the button on the phone is a little different from normal positioning on mobile phones. There is the trackball in the centre and the menu buttons on either side.

Another remarkable feature of this gadget is the software keyboard. This is the first touchscreen only Android device. Overall Review

Htc Magic is one the first few Android Smartphones released by HTC. The company has done very well to present itself as a product, which is different from the herd of Smartphones that are being fired at us from every which way direction. Although we never said that we were complaining but it does difficult for a user to choose the right device especially when all of the device fall in the same range in terms of price and features. So let us look at HTC Magic, which does have a catchy name but does that translate into a magical performance? HTC Magic comes with the dimensions 113mm x 55mm x 13.7mm and weighs 118.5 grams. Its 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen can be interacted with through the trackball navigation ball, which may not be convenient for those who prefer a touch screen system that is so prevalent these days. The pixel density offered by HTC Magic is 180ppi, which is decent but not mind blowing. RAM is also nothing great to talk about with only 288MB. For internal memory there is a microSD card slot that allows the user to expand the memory up to 32GB. Camera is of strength 3.2 megapixels although the quality of pictures have been better in other devices with same pixel strength. Videos can be shot but there is no access to a secondary camera. Web can be accessed though not at a lightning speed but is still pretty decent. One downside about the device is its operating system, which is Android Donut with the version 1.6. At least Gingerbread if not Ice Cream Sandwich should be deployed. The processor power is also 528MHz, which is not bad but is not good either when compared to today's standards. Available in the colors of black and white, Htc Magic comes powered by the standard lithium ion battery of 1,340 mAh, which is one good thing about the device as it gives a decent talk time and a standby time. The user can also listen to music through the music player and watch videos which round up the multimedia features of the device which means there is no Radio with it.

User Interface and UI functionality

Htc Magic has a 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen that gives a resolution of 320 by 480 pixels which really is bare minimum along with 65k colors and a pixel density of 180ppi. The device can be interacted with through the trackball navigation.

Multimedia features

Htc Magic has lots of multimedia features including a music player and a video player where the music player allows the user to listen to all the desired musical tracks that can be heard through the loudspeakers or through the earphones that can be attached to the device with the help of a 3.5mm jack. There is no Radio FM. The music player is compatible with the mp3 player whereas the video player supports mp4 and 3gp players.

Htc Magic has a 3.2 megapixels camera that clicks pictures at a resolution of 2048 by 1536 pixels and features the autofocus facility, which means that pictures can be clicked with utmost precision. The user can also shoot videos but there is no secondary camera which means no to video chatting or video calling.

Htc Magic has the Wi-Fi facility which allows the user to access the web so as to download data including music files, games, images and videos. Multiple tabs can be opened but not without glitches and same is the case if one opens web alongside playing a video. Still desired websites can also be visited including popular social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.

Htc Magic has a microSD card slot that allows the user to expand the memory of the device up to 32GB so that the user can store loads of data including music files, games, images and videos without worrying about the memory space running out. The RAM is 288MB and is on the lower side which means this is not exactly the fastest device you will come across.

Applications and Gaming

Htc Magic has lots of games and apps that are preinstalled in the device with the Android v.1.6 Donut backing the device. The number of games and apps that the device features would still be less as compared to the ones featured by the device that have the Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwich versions of Android. Still the user can download more games and apps from the device as and when required from the given pool of choices.

Htc Magic is powered by the standard lithium ion battery of 1,340 mAh standard lithium ion battery that makes sure that the user can use the device for a longer duration without being interrupted. The talk time offered by the device includes up to 7 hours and 30 minutes whereas the standby time offered is up to 420 hours.

Htc Magic comes with lots of data connectivity features including the Bluetooth facility that allows the user to connect with other devices and exchange data with it where the data exchanged may include music files, games, images and videos. There is also the USB port which allows the user to connect the device with computers through the USB cable. Wi-Fi is provided that lets the user use nearby connections available for connecting with the web whereas GPRS facility lets the user reach his or her desired destination without getting lost.
