User Interface and UI functionality

In terms of display and user interface , the Evo comes out on top, with its 4.3-inches 3D LCD capacitive touch screen that affairs with the 16 million of color depth and 540 x 960 pixels of screen resolution counts. The screen has protective anti-scratch layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. Along with the well known Sense user interface, users of the HTC EVO 3D can also subscribe to an RSS feed by hitting the icon that helps to keep up to date with the sites you love very easy. You can set manual white balance, use a timer, and add a geo-tag to any image. HTC Evo 3D allows you to shoot 3D movies and snap 3D pictures with dual camera which can flip between 2D and 3D. You can record 3D videos using up to 720p quality but the 3D effect was more convincing when we tried to position a foreground object for greater visual perspective. HTC EVO 3D becomes a powerful mobile 3D video camera that shoots clean, clear movies. The powerful 5 megapixels autofocus primary camera has dual LED flash support along with Stereoscopic photos (2 MP only) and Geo-tagging. This primary rear camera captures images with a resolution of 2560 х 1920 pixels and can record 720 pixels videos by capturing 30 frames per second. It has a secondary camera for video calling and self portraits that has a sensor of 1.3 megapixels.

Internet support

HTC EVO 3D is basically a content phone and as a 3G device is provides speed as high as 6 Mbps that is used to achieve fast and rich access to content and web pages. The Bluetooth and USB features ease data exchange from HTC EVO 3D to the other enabled device and vice-versa, but it lacks the GPRS and EDGE internet options. HTC EVO 3D can also work with 4G network as it supports the WiMAX network along with the Wi-Fi connectivity. Wi-Fi works smoothly with a Belkin N600 DB router using 802.11n, without any stalling during a streaming test sending a video from a PC in another room. With HTC Evo 3D, the lithium ion 1,730 mAh rechargeable battery drains faster than its contemporary competitors and cannot set any standards. The battery life for most activities (not 3D) is much greater, up to 9 hours 20 minutes over 2G network and up to 7 hours 45 minutes over 3G network for making calls, checking e-mails, and occasionally playing a short video. Standby time on the phone is 358 hours for 2G network whereas it is 420 hours for 3G network. As per tests for HTC EVO 3D, watching only an hour of YouTube 3D clips, and checking email and browsing a few Websites, the battery only lasted about three hours. The brightness level was set at mid-point. You can do multi-tasking with this Android smartphone for a good time, as this battery can run for at least a day. So you need to charge the device on the daily basis.

Connectivity Offered

HTC Evo 3D support DLNA (digital living network alliance) technology but has sacrificed few options when it comes to connecting the phone up to the PC, with the main ones being HTC Sync and HDMI port. HTC EVO 3D consciously running on the 2G and 3G network on bandwidth of GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz, 3G Network at a frequency of HSDPA 900 / 2100 MHz respectively. LG has opted for a Texus Instruments 1GHz 'tri-dual' processor in the Optimus whilst HTC has gone for a Qualcomm dual core 1.2GHz processor in the Evo. HTC Evo is just hair thinner than Optimus, and weighs 2 grams more than LG Optimus 3D. In terms of performance both the devices have a pretty decent processor under the hood. In terms of display and user interface, the HTC Evo 3D is better with its 4.3 inch capacitive touch screen running at 540 x 960 pixels of resolution, surpassing the Optimus 3D's 480 x 800 pixels of screen resolution.

Between the phones we have two different versions of the Android operating system. The HTC EVO 3D is running on Android version 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system whereas the LG Optimus 3D is lagging behind a lot with Android version 2.2 Froyo operating system, which is an outdated version of operating system as per the current scenario. LG Optimus 3D has 512MB of RAM while HTC EVO 3D has twice as much at 1GB. LG has put in lot of effort to make sure there is a variety of 3D entertainment on the phone.
