HCL Infosystems Ltd released HCL ME Y3 Tab in January 2013. The Global Head of Mobility Business Unit at HCL was delighted to put forth the name of brand ambassador for their ME Tablet brand, where on the release occasion he stated that this tablet is a phablet in actual terms roaring with dual SIM and 3G support. The tablet was not only indented to score on the price but also provide better features such as 1GHz Cortex A9 CPU, built-in GPS & FM Radio and a mini HDMI Port. The HCL team also made news that HCL ME tablets will be supported by 24X7 one touch service facility and the tablets would be available across the country by February completion of the same year.

HCL has created its first tablet in its Dual SIM tab category, HCL ME Y3 Tab. HCL has tried to mark its presence in Indian Tablet market with few of the key features like Dual SIM, Wi-Fi, and 3G from its new tablet HCL ME Y3 Tab. HCL's new ME Y3 looks to be an upgraded version of the Me Tab V1, which came with similar set of specifications. However, the Me Tab V1 has single SIM and lower 800x480 pixels resolution. The tablet is powered by a 1GHz Cortex A9 on-board processor which allows user to perform various tasks simultaneously without any lag. This new series is designed to improve the user experience and create value for all customers in all categories. It runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system that is a smooth platform to various software and applications.

HCL ME Y3 Tab has inbuilt SIM calling functionality. The tablet offers 1GB DDR3 RAM that processes data fast with an inbuilt memory of 4GB which can be expanded up to 32GB via MicroSD card to store surplus of yours important files and documents. It sports a 7 inch capacitive touch screen display boasting a bright resolution of 1024x600 pixels. This dual SIM tablet has in-built FM radio. The HCL ME Y3 has a high-speed 3G (HSUPA) through which you can surf the Internet, play videos and play games online. Y3 tablet also supports the dual SIM card, and both can be used for data or voice. The tablet also provides connecting ports to connect to other compatible devices such as 3.5mm Audio Jack and HDMI port. The HCL ME Y3 tablet also offers IEEE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity to browse through internet. Also a Bluetooth V4.0 is provided for quick and flawless transfer of data among compatible devices. This tablet comes with a 2 megapixel rare camera and with 0.3 megapixel VGA front camera supporting Video chat. The tablet is compact with dimensions of 225mm x 150mm x 90mm and it looks thin compared to the present ones in the market. The HCL ME Y3 Tab is powered by a 3100 mAh battery which does not seem a lot for a 3G Tablet. Overall, HCL ME Y3 Tab is a good deal and looks a good competitor to iBall and Swipe in Dual Sim tablets segments.
