Similar construction, same home button on the bottom of the screen, volume rocker and mute switch/rotation lock on the right side, sleep/wake button on top along with headphone output and a 30-pin port at the bottom. You will end up asking “What’s new here?” Turn on the screen of both the devices and there you will notice the difference. The New iPad 3 features a 9.7-inch Retina display which has a whopping 2048 x 1536 resolution, which is crispier when reading texts and clearer when viewing a high-definition movie or picture. The display on the New iPad 3 is so good that after few hours of usage, your eyes won’t just accept to look at any other display. The back is aluminum uni-body with centrally placed Apple logo and a 5 megapixel camera on the top left corner. The dock can now hold six regularly used apps that are all present on home screen and most of the system apps can use split-screen making most of the extra screen real estate. The screen also supports many multi-touch gestures: pinching in will take you to the home screen, flicking up will enable the multi-tasking window and swiping left will let you bounce between open apps.
Multimedia features
